Project Scope
The SSGL project compasses the specification and implementation procedures
of the sensor communication protocol for distributed processing and
autonomous operation in homes and industrial fields.
- SSGL MAC Layer Specification
Defines the most bottom layer of sensor communication regardless
of the PHY for true decentralised operation, autonomy, redundancy,
advanced QoS control, low-power operation, ...
- SSGL Message Layer Specification
Defines message format based on human readable form suitable for
direct (no need for additional device drivers) monitoring,
configuration, binding, with standard powerful mathematical
post-processing capabilities.
- SSGL Distributed Layer Specification
SSGL Distributed layer represents a middle-ware defining a
cross-platform real-time redundant distributed storage network system.
- SSGL Library
Software implementation according to the SSGL MAC and Message layers,
providing C/C++ API using cross-platform independent middle-ware.
SSGL Message library is published under the GPL.
- SSGL Tools, Visualization and Interactive Software
Contains modules as sensor device browser, graph/plotter,
octave/matlab link, 3D space view, etc..
Most of the software is published under the GPL.
- Wireless Sensors and Access Point
A set of test devices showing capabilities, simplicity and advantages
of the SSGL MAC and Message protocols over ZigBee and other standards.
- Sensor General Instrumentation Bus (SGIB)
SGIB is based on the SSGL specification and additional topolgy, electrical
and physical (mechanial) specificaion to provide lowest cost instrumentation
framework.
- SSGL Association
SSGL is going to be established for trusted partners,
providing complete access to the entire SSGL project,
process and analyze future requests and roadmap,
participating in next SSGL specification releases,
providing sponsorships for non-commercial GNU software development.
